Ryan uses the profiling of core skills to help teams make relationship-based improvements, as well as helping leaders and managers to develop honest feedback skills and use a risk management approach on people-related projects.
As a veteran, he also acts as a mentor in support of other ex-military personnel. He is chair of the board at Smart Awards Limited, the national awarding and assessment organisation for the telecommunication, construction, digital and utility sectors. He is also a trustee of the Council of Management at Ruthin School in North Wales.
Background
Ryan commissioned into the Cheshire Regiment (1st Battalion Mercian Regiment) from the world-renowned Royal Military Academy. He had a successful military career as an infantry officer, leading large, global and diverse teams. He was deployed on operations to Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, and managed large teams in the UK, Middle East and Caribbean, developing multinational training programmes.
In the corporate sector, Ryan has held several senior leadership positions in a large FTSE 100 company. He has led UK-wide operational teams, overseen infrastructure build programmes with supply chains and sponsored people change and transformation programmes.
